Loved ones are waiting anxiously for the results of the upcoming Nobel Prize for Literature.
A shortlist of the finalists, to be announced at the end of the year, has been announced and, according to a statement by the laureate committee, they will be announced in the coming days.
The winners will be recognised in the event of their achievement, as are their spouses.
The prize is worth around $1.2m (£820,000).
The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Hotel Serena in the Italian capital on Tuesday, with Nobel laureate and broadcaster Oscar-nominee Livia Garcia Lorca taking the podium. She said: We hope that all those people who love the world will be pleased to be invited to come and support the Nobel Prize in Literature, as we are delighted to be the winners of this prize.
“It will give me great pleasure to recognise the winners who are truly extraordinary people who are creating an extraordinary work of art.”
“It is the first time in my lifetime that I will be receiving a Nobel Prize, which I am proud to be a part of.
It’s an honour and an honour to win it, but it’s also a great privilege to be part of this process,” said Ms Garcia LorCA.”
I am so honoured and I am honoured to be able to present this prize to you, my fellow writers, for all the work that you have done and to be honoured to share this honour with so many of you.”
The announcement of the winners has been met with a mixture of joy and concern, with some saying that the announcement was too early and others saying it should have been announced earlier.
“We can’t wait to hear the news,” said Oscar-winning writer Jane Eyre.
“For me, the last two weeks have been so overwhelming and exciting.
I have never known so many great writers. “
We have a fantastic team, and I’m excited to be joining the laureates.”
“I have never known so many great writers.
I’ve never known such a rich group of writers and I want to thank everyone who has supported this project,” said Joyce Carol Oates.”
The prize has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
The honour has been truly a dream come true for me.
I have no idea how long it will take to get the results, but I’m sure it will be a long time.””
A very special and happy day indeed.
We are delighted that we will be among the laurees.
I know that we all have our work ahead of us, and the journey ahead will be the most interesting one yet,” said Livia Cervantes.”
Congratulations to all the winners, to Livia and to everyone who helped make this prize possible.”
Livia Garcia-Lorca is the third recipient of the prize in her long career.
In 1997 she was named to the Nobel Peace Prize and in 2000 she won the National Book Award.
Libra Love is the sixth recipient of this year’s prize.
The prize will be awarded in the name of the award-winning author Livia Garzón Lorca, who was born in the city of Córdoba, in the province of Coimbra in southern Spain.
Liorca, whose work has been recognised with the award for Literature, was born on January 20, 1945, and is considered a pioneer of contemporary literature.
