This is a draft where the NFL can find an amazing talent.
And it will.
Here are my top five candidates to be the next Love Boat, and here are my thoughts on how this draft could play out.1.
DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame: I was shocked when the Chicago Bears took him first overall, and I’m still shocked.
There’s not much to say about Kizer other than that he is a physical specimen with an elite arm and a strong physical profile.
He is not a great athlete, but he can do it all, which makes him a great fit for this offense.
He has the ability to throw it down the field to big plays and the arm talent to play a three-receiver set.
He also has an ability to make quick decisions in space, and he is an elite athlete.2.
Deshaun Watson, Clemson: He was the No. 1 pick overall, but the Bears had a lot of good players, including Marcus Mariota, and the Clemson product was on the board in this mock draft.
Watson is a versatile quarterback who could be a top-10 pick if he can find a spot on a defense.
His size and athleticism give him the ability, especially with his arm, to take the top off defenses.3.
Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville: Bridgewater’s pro day was pretty impressive, as he ran a 4.68 40-yard dash at the combine, which was a big improvement over the 40 time of 4.55 he ran at Louisville last year.
He could become a top pick if the Browns want to take him with the No-Pick in the first round.4.
Mitchell Trubisky, North Carolina: The Bears have a ton of talent at quarterback, and Trubik could be the answer if the Bears need a quarterback to get them to the playoffs.
He’s an excellent athlete with an outstanding arm, and if he has a better pro day, he could be even better.5.
Austin Hooper, Michigan State: Hooper was one of the top players in the draft at his position, and it looks like he has the talent to be a second-round pick.
He might not have a huge arm, but Hooper has the size and strength to be an NFL starter.
